Andorra
has two borders: the one on the French border is situated at Pas de la Casa,
and the one on the Spanish border is at La Farga de Moles. Both are open
day and night. Required documents:
- Citizens of
member countries of the EEC: National Identity Document.
- Other visitors:
Passport or equivalent.
When returning
to the EEC from a visit to the Principality of Andorra, each person may take,
without paying any customs duties or taxes, the quantities or values of products
purchased in Andorra that are listed in the table below. If the limits given
here are not exceeded and the products are intended for personal use, it
is not necessary to declare them at the Community Customs. Caution! The permissible
quantities and values may vary according to one's age.
The permissible
quantities of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, coffee, tea, perfumes and colognes
are limited but their value is not taken into consideration. On the other
hand, the permissible quantities of milk, butter, sugar, sweets and meat
are also limited and their value is taken into account. For all other agricultural
products, (foods, beverages and tobacco) or industrial products (manufactured
goods not including food), the limit is based on value alone.
All products
that exceed the individual duty-free allowances must be declared at customs.
The value of allowances may not be accumulated either between travellers
or between agricultural and industrial products for the purpose of taking
a product whose value exceeds the respective individual allowance.
Before crossing
the frontier, request information at the Community customs on the special
limitations that may apply, particularly on animal or vegetable products,
live animals, species in danger of extinction, pharmaceuticals, weapons and
ammunition, works of art and collector's items, foreign currency, gold and
means of payment.
