Note 1: If you are coming
from Montpellier, DO NOT DRIVE VIA PERPIGNAN! Use
the Montpellier - Carcassonne - Foix route map instead, it's quicker
and easier!
Note 2: When in Bourg-Madame, DO NOT follow signs to Andorra ! The French want you to go through the Puymorens tunnel for which you have to pay and then you'll have to go via Pas de la Casa and the Envalira pass !!!!! When in Bourg-Madame, it's much better to follow for Puigcerda, Bellver de Cerdanya, la Seu d'Urgell and then Andorra. You will save 45 minutes and money! Note 3: For those coming from the Puymorens tunnel (because of bad snow conditions approaching Andorra from Toulouse), follow the below route map as of Bourg-Madame. |
Perpignan - Arinsal route map

Once across the Andorran border, drive through St. Julià de Loria and Santa Coloma until you get to Andorra-la-Vella. |
![]() |
At the entrance of Andorra-la-Vella,
things get a little complicated as Santa Coloma, Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany,
three villages, have now grown together to form one big town. It is
hard to tell when one village/town starts and where the other stops.
For those that are good at navigating, drive up to the end of the valley
and then take the left valley up to "la Massana/Ordino". For the rest of you, just
keep following the signs for "La Massana / Ordino" (see red line on map
opposite).
Exit the city, drive through the tunnels and drive into "La Massana". |

Once in "La Massana", keep driving
though "town". Take a left under the footbridge towards "Pal/Arinsal". Drive out of the town. After 3,5 km, and having past the hamlet of
"Erts", you'll reach the village of Arinsal. Then what? |
