Fist of all, you must realise that Girona airport is NOT in Barcelona, nor is it close to Barclona, even if some flight companies say so. Girona is about 1 hour by car from Barcelona. There different routes you can take in order to get to Andorra from Girona. Many route maps tell you to go via Olot, Ripoll and over the Toses pass which is the shortest route but by no means the fastest! Take that route if you are on a motorcycle but not if you want to get to Andorra easily and quickly without having to go over any passes. You will probably have had enough of traveling by the time you get your car. As you still have over 3 hours of driving to do, the quickest route is best. The route described below is the one taken by the bus that goes from Andorra to Girona every day and goes via the new Eix Transversal road. |

Once across the Andorran border, drive through St. Julià de Loria and Santa Coloma until you get to Andorra-la-Vella. |

At the entrance of Andorra-la-Vella,
things get a little complicated as Santa Coloma, Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany,
three villages, have now grown together to form one big town. It is
hard to tell when one village/town starts and where the other stops.
For those that are good at navigating, drive up to the end of the valley
and then take the left valley up to "la Massana". For the rest of you, just
keep following the signs for "La Massana / Ordino" (see red line on map
opposite).
Exit the city, drive through the tunnels and drive into "La Massana". |

Once in "La Massana", keep driving
though "town". Drive under a foot bridge and turn left towards "Pal/Arinsal". After 3,5 km, and having past the hamlet of
"Erts", you'll reach the village of Arinsal.
