What is Caldea?

Caldea is Europe's largest recreational spa located in the mountains and offers you over 6'000 square meters of inside and outside lagoons, saunas, jacuzzis, grapefruit pools, an Aztecian pool, Indo-Roman baths, cascades, bubble beds, warm marble slates, and much much more.

Imagine a place where everything is light and space, where you can forget fatigue, stress and routine... a unique spa where, throughout the year, you will find peace and calm in the beneficial effects of thermal water. A haven to retreat to, dedicated to rest, getting back in shape, health and beauty.

Caldea uses the water which emerges from the thermal source in Escaldes-Engordany at 68º C to create a harmonious interrelation between the body and water in futuristic surroundings. In ancient Catalan, the word 'caldea' means tonifying and warm. In Roman times, the word 'calidae', from which the name of the town of Escaldes in Andorra originates, designated a warm water source. Two thousand years later, Caldea offers you a new form of well-being and enjoyment, an encounter with water in all its possible forms, from steam to ice, from Japan to Finland...

The Main Spa

Who can go to Caldea?
Everybody is welcome:

those that don't feel like going skiing, fishing or hiking!
those that are looking for a healthy après-ski
those that just to bathe for a few hours and have a wonderful time

Careful: children under 5 years of age are not admitted

Entrances to the Main Spa are for a maximum of 3 hours. Those wanting to take advantage of everything Caldea has to offer will want to go to the Caldea Club instead. More about the Club here.

The Indo-Roman baths

Although the main element of the spa is thermal water, Caldea is not a medical centre and you don't have to have a medical check-up before entering. Visitors do not come to Caldea for health reasons but to relax and to get back in shape. This means that one does not find the sometimes depressing atmosphere which is sometimes felt in other thermal spas where people go in order to get cured. Caldea is rather a modern aquatic paradise for people that just want to benefit from the properties of thermal water without following a medical program prescribed by a doctor.

The Club is meant for those that want to take full advantage of the installations and services offered at Caldea. The grapefruit pool, the Aztecian pool and the water-beds are just some of the installations reserved for those following a 1,2 3 or 5-day beauty, relaxation, well-being or après-ski programme with treatments such as massages, beauty treatments, milk or seaweed baths, peelings and more.

Where is Caldea?

Caldea is located in Escaldes, just 10 minutes by car form Arinsal and there is a regular bus service Arinsal - la Massana - Escaldes - Andorra la Vella. Of course, we can reserve your entrances for you which is very useful especially on week-ends and during the holiday season.

Prices:
There are 24 different formulas at Caldea that range from 3 hours to 5 days. Caldea is open from 09:00 to at least 23:00 and there's even a late night entrance at 22:00 on week-ends.
